No Slitherine Install Download!!!

Purchased Battleplan through Slitherine/Matrix (like always) but was shocked to see (first time ever)...no install to download.
Instead, I get a Steam Key (per usual) only...not a fan of this. Particularly when considering one can purchase this on GOG (DRM free) as well. I feel a little...cheated.
Hoping this is not a trend for purchasing future Slitherine/Matrix games.
I will add, the UI scaling per text needs some work, imho.

Agreed; I have concerns for the, coming, release of the new Blood Bowl game (or any new releases, for that matter) following this same format.
After all...what would be the point of purchasing any new games on Slitherine/Matrix?

This is VERY disconcerting.

I have been an active supporter of Matrix Games and Slitherine aka Slitherine Group since the beginning in 2000.

But while I don't mind using Steam, when I purchase my serious wargames, I prefer to get a non online non Steam full installer.

Say what you will, but when I buy software, I own that software.

I have it currently wish listed over on GoG Likely will be where I make my purchase.

The store page did not initially clarify this, and I wanted to apologize for that. Several of our Slitherine titles don't have a standalone version (like Broken Arrow) so it is something that will likely occur in the future. One mistake with this launch was that we weren't more up-front on the store page with this info. That has been fixed now but is definitely something we're gonna keep an eye on for future releases.

For Matrix titles I do know we plan to continue providing standalone builds, so no worries there.
