For the upcoming version v0.9.0 RC4

Pacific General
The biggest early addition was the full Pacific General module. It brought in the original Japanese and American campaigns, all 33 stock Pacific scenarios, Pacific-local equipment, nations, flags, terrain, briefings/debriefings, sounds and original PacGen unit artwork.
Pacific then received a long fidelity and gameplay pass: corrected UNITICON extraction and palettes, native campaign-selection artwork, Japanese/American difficulty ranks, Tokyo–Berlin Axis support, module-specific Quick Save/Load, Pacific Core/Aux handling, correct nation names, native Hill/Reef/Coast/Deep Ocean identities, bridge fixes, transport-point handling, carrier landing/launch workflow, naval deployment legality, ship AA behavior, native naval icon sizing, Level Bomber disruption/neutralization rules, scenario-side selection, corrected deployment zones, terrain-name restoration and numerous campaign-transition/UI fixes.
A large amount of recovered Pacific custom content was also added, including custom campaigns and scenarios such as Z-Plan and USA 1946, with recovered routing and scenario metadata.
Panzer II
A completely new Panzer II / Panzer General II module was integrated. It now uses Classic General’s shared PG/AG rules rather than emulating the PG2 engine, while preserving PG2 campaigns, scenarios and map content.
The stock PG2 import currently covers 586 equipment records, 53 playable scenario variants and 32 native maps. Its maps were converted to the native Classic General terrain system with road, bridge, coastline, mountain, river and terrain-topology reconstruction.
Panzer II received its own main screen, scenario browser, campaign handling, 10 numbered campaign save slots plus Quick Save, Core/Aux classification, purchase/deployment support, and PG2 campaign options.
Equipment was progressively rebased onto the global Classic General equipment roster. Nationalist Spain uses German proxies, Republican Spain French/Soviet, Belgium and the Netherlands use LC equipment where appropriate, and Czechoslovakia uses exact matches or French proxies. PG2 equipment gameplay values now align with matching global equipment entries.
Panzer II campaign prestige was also reconstructed: authored Turn-1 prestige, subsequent turn prestige schedules, campaign difficulty scaling, objective prestige, campaign outcome prestige and source PG2 victory-turn thresholds are now represented.
The latest Panzer II work audited victory/objective topology across all 53 converted scenarios and preserved the original SCN victory-side information rather than rewriting it from the strategy guide.
Campaign Generator
The old battle-generation work evolved into a substantial procedural Campaign Generator.
It now creates persistent multi-mission campaigns rather than isolated battles. The generator tracks a continuing Core, prestige, losses, replacements, upgrades, experience, campaign dates, generated geography, objectives and operational state between missions.
Campaign setup includes theatre/location, participating nations, date range, difficulty and campaign parameters. The generator now supports both Start and End dates, with generated missions constrained to that historical campaign window.
Generated campaigns gained persistent operational geography, sector-based terrain, objective chains, consequences from previous battles, campaign arcs, operation identities and increasingly varied mission archetypes.
Mission generation now considers things such as breakthrough, defense, meeting engagements and other operational situations rather than producing the same basic battle repeatedly.
The system gained campaign-level balancing/director logic, deployment doctrine, Core evolution, statistics and a campaign journal.
A dedicated Campaign Generator save bank was added: 10 numbered slots plus Quick Save, all using Classic General’s PG-style UI. CONTINUE CAMPAIGN resumes tactical saves, while LOAD CAMPAIGN handles campaign-progress/imported campaigns.
Completed generated campaigns can be exported so another player can load and play them.
A generated campaign’s initial prestige now pays for the starting Core only once; the remaining prestige carries into Mission 1 and continues through the campaign rather than resetting to an arbitrary value.
Campaign events were expanded, including “Location worth investigating”: capturing its special location can award a random Core unit from the player’s equipment pool, with transport added where appropriate.
The location system now supports much more detailed regional generation rather than generic maps.
The newest location is Burma / Indo-Burma Frontier.

Shared combat and tactical rules
Several corrections became global rather than module-specific.
Aircraft-versus-aircraft combat now produces kills or misses only — never suppression.
Anti-Tank units receive the shared defensive initiative treatment against Tank/Recon where applicable.
Artillery-initiated attacks no longer trigger defensive artillery support, and the attack-budget system was fixed so a declared attack is consumed even if defensive support destroys or suppresses the attacker before the main exchange.
Replacement logic was corrected globally: damaged units below 10 strength can only be restored to 10 in one replacement action. Elite overstrength is a separate later action and adds at most +1 strength per eligible turn.
Engineer, Bridge Engineer and FortKiller behavior was separated properly. Cavalry received its shared no-fuel/no-transport handling.
PG/AG terrain corrections
Several longstanding PG/AG terrain issues were cleaned up.
Hill and Rough were separated correctly where earlier conversions had confused them.
Escarpment became its own terrain identity rather than being displayed/treated as Mountain; it is now correctly impassable.
Numerous map/topology improvements made for the Battle Generator were also made available to converted content without changing the underlying combat terrain identities.
Achievements (under development)
A new ACHIEVEMENTS system was added to the launcher.
Achievements have four tiers, with Tier 3 permanently completing an achievement. Some counters are global across modules, while campaign/win-related counters remain module-specific.
Initial general achievements include lifetime launches, module visits, Help Manual usage, language changes and contacting the developer, with dedicated bronze/silver/gold medal artwork for the appropriate tiers.
Console-forced scenario endings do not award achievement progress.
Help and documentation
An in-game Help Manuals system was introduced, with a full-screen reader and localized manuals in all nine supported languages.
The manual collection expanded to cover game systems including traits, medals/heroes and module-specific mechanics.
Medals, heroes and presentation
The medals/hero system was expanded and integrated more consistently. Kill thresholds, perks and class-specific hero abilities are tracked through the shared systems.
The Unit Window and numerous module-specific screens received presentation and namespace corrections, especially for Pacific and Panzer II.
UI overhaul and consistency
A large amount of work went into making Classic General look like one coherent game instead of several bolted-on modules.
The main launcher was redesigned and polished. Module browsers were standardized. Pacific scenario/custom-campaign screens were moved toward the same PG/AG framework.
A strong rule was introduced that in-game confirmations, save/load browsers, campaign windows and other interactions should use render-native PG-style windows rather than generic Windows dialogs wherever practical.
Numerous redundant overlays, duplicate labels, generic controls and transition glitches were removed.
Saves
Save handling is increasingly isolated by module.
Panzer, Allied, Pacific and Panzer II each have dedicated Quick Save/Load behavior rather than fighting over one shared slot.
Panzer II has its own campaign save bank, and the Campaign Generator now has its own 10-slot + Quick Save tactical bank.
Equipment expansion
The protected original PG/AG equipment range 0–437 remains intact.
A substantial custom/global equipment expansion has been added above ID 1000, including recovered equipment from custom campaigns and equipment needed by Pacific/Panzer II/Battle Generator content.
