Modern Conflicts: Back to Panzer Corps Submod

Post by AssaultX »

This is a submod for Modern Conflicts Mod v 2.15. Link to page: viewtopic.php?t=72062

Idea of the mod is to change the gameplay of Modern Conflicts Mod, so that it resembles vanilla Panzer Corps. Initially, it started as a personal makeshift submod (because I found NATO Campaign too boring without observing my KillTeam), but it has grown into a fully playable enhancement pack.

FEATURES:
  • USA, France, Poland, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Turkey, China, Ukraine recieved portraits for heroes of war (I tried to pick random authentic photos from the internet. Any resemblance to specific individuals is coincidental)
  • Poland, France, Ukraine recieved own awards system (The goal was to be precise and immersive, not to turn Panzer Corps into a "Clicker Simulator")
  • Ukraine`s Big Units images were altered to match condition and appearance of Armed Forces of Ukraine by 2017 year
  • NATO Campaign Recieved new faction - Joint Forces Operation Command (JF Units). This game mechanic functions similarly to the SE Unit system in the vanilla game
  • JF units appear to show more initiative than their regular counterparts, due to the fact that they are composed of volunteers. Other characteristics were not changed

Hi! Is it possible to use your submod with the JGME program?

Are there any screenshots and a more detailed description of what changes it makes, both globally and superficially?

That’s really interesting!
There are more and more of us who want to keep Modern Conflicts alive 8)

I’d also recommend posting this topic in the forum's "scenario design" section, as it’s much more active. If it weren't for Bondjamesbond (who linked to this thread in my own topic), I wouldn't have even seen it!

Also, I’m creating custom campaigns for *Modern Conflicts*, and I’ve been recently asked to include awards for armies that don't have them in the mod. Could I borrow your work about it?

Of course! The Submod supports JGME. Just place it among the last one`s. Image

I found campaigns a bit empty and pointless for loading 20 times to save private Ryan. So, this submod adds rewards for nations that doesn`t have it (like France. Surprisingly...) and Images of Heroes:Image

Now new faction - Joint Forces Operation Command. It is available from the beginning, and you can purchase JF Operators - Common Ukrainian Infantry with +1 Initiative: Image

However, throughout the campaign you will be able to gain up to 3 bonus units. So generaly, this is just SE Units mechanic: Image Image.

So, this is a small mod that brings back the feel of the original game.

Oh, that's great—and it definitely calls for my review then! Thank you so much for your hard work; I hope you won't stop there and will tackle even more global contemporary conflicts.

As I understand it, the single-player scenarios haven't been changed, right? Great photos in the shopping mode and the cosmetic skins with your addition )

From what I can see, these changes apply to all game modes.
It just takes a bit of time to unlock heroes and medals. You're much more likely to have them appear during a campaign than in a single scenario.

Incidentally, most of the additions specifically concern NATO countries (some of which had been somewhat overlooked and lacked medals in the mod). I believe special units are only unlocked in that one.

You’re probably right, but I hope the author will continue to expand and update their submod!

It would be nice to add a navy to the microstates and small countries. For example, the Georgians had ships in that conflict—though Russian special forces did destroy them. But maybe a player could save them or even try to fend off the enemy with their own little ships for a while.

Georgian Naval Forces:

Missile boats – 2

“Tbilisi” (Hull No. 302) – see description below

“Dioskuria” (Hull No. 303) – see description below

Patrol boats – 4

“Tskhaltubo” (Hull No. 101) 1 × 37 mm 70-K automatic cannon

“Iveria” (Hull No. 201) 2 × 23 mm ZU-23-2 automatic cannons

“Kutaisi” (Hull No. 202) 1 × 40 mm Bofors, 1 × 23 mm ZU-23-2 autocannon, 2 machine guns

“Mestia” (No. 203) 2 × 23 mm ZU-23-2 autocannons
