Bought a DLC but when try to install it says cannot find base game?

I have the base game and several other DLCs that I downloaded years ago. I though about buying Allies resurgence and when I tried to install and activate the serial given, I get an error message saying it cannot locate the base game, even though it is on my Win7 PC and I have been playing it. I wish the installers were made where you can pick the location as mine is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine.

I wasted my money on a purchase I cannot play because of the installer. I believe my version of the game is the Slitherine version, not GOG or NOT steam as I cannot use steam on Win7 setup

Have you upgraded the base game to 10.0.6?
Anyway, reinstalling the base game may help. You would then probably need to reinstall all older DLCs as well.

Eric, if you read my message more careful you will see I already have the game and other DLC's I used years ago. And yes I have 10.06 version already. I was even thinking of just installing 10 first and then the downloads as the installer is not finding the base game, even though it shows all my DLC's and serials. The only difference I can think of is I installed the DLCs before adding the 10.06 update and this is the first DLC after update. I am not even sure it is worth it as I have a working game with about 6 working DLC's. The installer should be able to find the base game, so it is something on the installers end that it doesn't like.

Ok I tried something. I uninstalled the 10.06 update and then re-installed the 10.0 version of the game. It kept all my DLC's activations and allowed me to install the DLC. Apparently there is something up with the installer that wants only 10.0v to install. It even said in the text that it may not work if not using 10.0 but I figured the newer update would still work. I was wrong, so anyone else having this issue, only use 10.0 version if you haven't installed the DLC's yet.
