Thank you for your service, it's a shame that the Vietnam War (and anything post WW2 for that matter) gets as overlooked as it does in wargaming.RussW wrote:Was just curious how many gamers playing this title are Viet Nam vets...I served with 26TH Marines from Jan 68 till March 69 as a radio operator.

Interesting Read

I read this earlier and I thought y'all might be interested. The editor adds in a lot of "humor," but what the VC vet has to say is worth putting up with it.

Re: Vietnam'65 Update / Patch
A quick UI suggestion: when selecting the engineer's repair ability, show only units that are in need of repair (as opposed to scrolling through units at base). It's not a big deal, but it's just a thought.

Exploit
I just noticed this while trying to score a better victory. If you have the game won, you can just reload the last auto save, end the turn, and the game gives you another victory. The problem is that you can do this to boost your rank and awards. Possible solution, maybe change it to where the last ...

I see what you're saying about the HQ, but I feel like there should be a threat of it (maybe something for further down the road).

Re: Vietnam 65 unbiased comment
I've had a few days to spend a lot of time with the game and I've noticed a few things. - There is a graphical glitch, where after combat has occurred in an area (say an airstrike) you will occasionally see the shockwave effect pop up every now and then until you end the turn. - NVA/VC do not attack...

I've been able to rack up many of the medals, any tips on how to kill 100 enemy units?

Re: The Mecha mystery use
This should work, it would make sense considering all those extra eyes on the vehicle.Vietnam65 wrote:We have to balance the armor and the M113, by giving it some function the armor doesn't , I was thinking along the lines of giving it a one hex detection radius when infantry in the back?

Maybe give it a combat boost if infantry are riding in it?

I hope this game does well and you're able to do all of that though. BTW you forgot the French and there w...

My thoughts after one complete game
I just finished my first game, regular difficulty, and won decisively. Some of my thoughts: Pros - I like the achievement/medal system, adds some replay value and encourages different play styles - Simplicity, I didn't have to read a 300+ page manual to figure out what to do and how to do it - Uniqu...

Re: Complexity question.
I've played the other two games and they are slightly more demanding, then PC. The mechanics are quite similar, but there are a few differences. You have to worry about man power, money, national morale, and ammo (for the big guns) along with declaring war on your neighbors. Outside of that; you've ...

Tutorial
Hi all, I'm having an issue: whenever I start up the game, I have to play the tutorial mission to unlock MP, SP Campaigns, and the editor. I've had to do this a quite a bit, any idea on what I can do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
