Re: I think the ecological faction needs some tweaking
I agree that the ecological faction is the strongest even without the alien agression advantage. I really enjoy not futzing with pollution! Maybe the per pop food required should be a bit higher because they are fussy about the quality of what they eat. Maybe mining should cost extra money as they h...

Re: Terraforming Work Duration
My comment is that as of 1.1.9 there were still a lot of places in the game where the stated turns for something to happen were wrong if you played a non-standard pace. For those of us who cannot resist the compulsion to micromanage, this is a royal pain.jdmillard wrote:No comments. hmm.

Re: The Xenomorph Pheropod is too easy to get
With the research of the capture tool, there should be given: . one or more free space for captured aliens (foremore it would be an immediate hint for newbs about the feature) . a kind of hive to be built in town, giving some added spaces . still, a Xeno Trooper would add one space This may be bett...

The gorilla warfare tech gives you a bonus in forest and mountains. All bonuses, if any, are listed in the chance of victory window when you ponder an attack.

Healing in 1.1.9
Am i wrong or is healing now 20% no matter where you are if you use the healing option? To me it seems that you should get 10% in unowned territory, 15% in owned territory, 25% in a city and 35% in a fort or something like that. If healing is the same in a fort as everywhere else, then I no longer u...

Re: Next patch?
I just started playing 1.1.9 last night as my first foray into the Beta versions. So far I like the changes although having that big bird kill my mines was a bit of a shock. I like that the retrofit option seems a bit fairer and that advancements aren't quite as overweight as they used to be in the ...

Re: Will there ever be a manual?
Crap. My favorite XML processing tools really don't like the HTML snippets that are embedded in the XML. The correct way to embed HTML in XML is to use the CDATA construct: <xml> <htmlData>

Your HTML's body

</htmlData> </xml> Of course I stick to JSON in my ...

Re: Will there ever be a manual?
So I have been looking at the various game wikis and I see that their API access is pretty limited. This makes me want to try and set up my own mediawiki server and see if I can extract a lot of useful info for the wiki data directly from the modding XML files and use the wiki writing APIs to put th...

Re: Transcendence Era Technology
It is very easy to reach the point where your research points are at or near as high as the most expensive remaining tech and the only limitation is the "one tech per turn" rule. I would prefer raising the cost of the research a lot in the middle and late game, but also allow the player to...

Re: Transcendence Era Technology
In endless space there is a supertech that leads directly to a research victory. You resarch an extremely expensive (in research points) building that has to then be built on 10 different planets and then held for at least 10 turns on each planet. This provides an alternate research victory conditio...

Re: Pheromone Converter?
I have done a Galeth on Galeth battle and it was a blast. I have also found it useful to use weak converted drones as spies that wander in and/or around enemy territory. It would be great in multiplayer if converted aliens were not labelled as such as it would make using them as spies an even better...

Re: Will there ever be a manual?
I have tried to play this game several times but I just cant get very far into it before something really bad happens. Reminded me of the line from Doctor Strangelove: "Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed. But I do say no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops. ...

Ideally this option would not be availble to the religious faction! Instead they get to build a church that deducts 10% from their income but boosts morale.kidpython wrote: How about a family planning building that would gradually cut down percentage growth over time.

Re: How to define new colors?
Thanks for the hint, but there seems to be something wrong. Regardless if I use "rgba(0.5, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0)", "rgba(0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 1.0)" or "rgba(0.5, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0)" - my borders are always on a dark red color. Appearantly only the red value works, but the blue and gree...

100% Research Fail
I got to 100% research in my latest game, but lost to the scientific faction who also hit 100% on the same turn and beat me by a couple hundred points. Sigh. I didn't like the language of the failure notice as I was not dominated by the other faction. If scientific domination is the victory concept ...

Water related suggestions
Currently Coast and Ocean have the same value: food - 2. I think this is wrong. Ocean front property is insanely valuable in the real world. I suggest that some 'coast' hexes should randomly also get Morale - 1 or Morale - 2. Ocean tiles should randomly get food of 0, 1 or 2. On top of getting the f...
