Re: Concept for Expansion: Nomads & Estates
Thank you for the reply! Personally, I think the game has a long future - I've already wishlisted DLC2 and I plan on streaming a whole lot of it as soon as it comes out. If you have any further questions about the mechanics/concepts posited in this idea, let me know!

Concept for Expansion: Nomads & Estates
I remember Pocus asking for suggestions regarding potential expansions/DLCs, so I gave it some thought. Here goes:
Nomads & Estates DLC (DLC 3)
Nomads
DLC1 added Tribes, which give variety and new playstyles. However, they don't distinguish between settled and nomadic societies, with tribal ...

Re: Suggestion: Map changes
I just completed a game where the Seljuks blobbed into Siberia. They had a huge empire there, which made them by far the leader in legacy. I came all the way from southern France with a huge English army and conquered Iraq and Mosul provinces, and smashed one of their armies after another. It didn ...

Central Asia - current state above, suggestion below
Siberia/the area east of the Urals is a baffling addition. The only reason for it to be there is to fill in the square map. The Mongols didn't care about these lands at all - they went west through today's Xinjiang and Central Asia, then south ...

The Baltic area has a very high province granularity inconsistent with other areas. This is most likely due to the smaller map for the Alexander Nevsky campaign, where it works fine, but in the Grand Campaign map, it sticks out. I propose the ...

Suggestion: Map changes
The map for the expanded campaign is great and I thank all who put in the work for it, but it has issues - some who were already present in the old map, some new - that I am trying to address here. These issues are:
The inconsequential nature of terrain. It really only makes movement faster or ...

The German Question
Right now, the German culture is broken up in a variety of strange and inconsistent ways: There is German, Central German, Old High German (which isn't even a culture, but a linguistic period), Franconian... Because of the way the game handles culture, this needs to be addressed. Here are three ...

Bug report: Message Settings Reset
Since the latest update, the settings for the message log and the on-map notifications keep resetting every turn. You can see it happening in the clip below as soon as I press the end turn button.

Well, I reloaded to reproduce those events and of course, the RNG decided differently and the Lancastrian army that took Vermandois got defeated on the way instead...
Lesson learned, copy the save and put it in a separate folder. Will do so next time something comparable happens. Sorry!

Re: Suggestion: Third party occupations
Did you try to ask for the region through a transaction? It will be much cheaper if you are the legit owner.

Is it possible there is an error with the "much cheaper"? Because I'm trying to reacquire Vermandois from my vassal Lancaster who has taken it from a third party ...

Re: Suggestion: Formable Persia
So the next question is why did it first form in 1501?
thus becoming the first native dynasty since the Buyids to establish a national state officially known as Iran.[41]"
Emphasis on "since the Buyids" - so the Buyids, who definitely existed during the game's timeframe, already did that ...

So who would qualify?
All factions the game currently considers to be of Persian culture should be able to form Persia, just like all Anglo-Saxons (and Normandy) can form England. Now, which factions should be of Persian culture is a different debate that can be opened, but perhaps in a separate ...

Re: Suggestion: Formable Persia
This was considered, but the problem here is that there were a lot of factions in this time frame that did indeed satisfy the Isfahan + 20 conditions (Seljuqs, Ilkhanate, Khwarezm, Timurids, etc) yet none of them historically bothered to call themselves Persia.
That is true, but none of them ...

Suggestion: Formable Persia
The Grand Campaign starts in the final stage of the Iranian Intermezzo, with the Buyids being trampled under the Seljuk onslaught. Before that, the Buyids and other native Iranian polities did imitate many Sassanid practices and governance, despite being Muslim rather than Zoroastrian. Some even ...

I know it's a lot - how difficult is it? If it's just a matter of editing text files, I can try modding it for my own copy and send you the files once I'm happy with the results.

Various map errors in spelling, cultural and religious distribution at game start
I realize that these are not high priority issues, but I find them consistently annoying and they do detract from enjoyment of an otherwise excellent game. I hope that now, with the DLC released and two patches ironing out immediate issues, these fixes can be included in the next patch.
