Immortal Fire - Classical Greek List - Elite Upgrade?

In the Classical Greek list there is an entry called "Upgrade non-Spartan elite hoplites to:"

What exactly does the "elite" part mean? The basic Hoplite is "Average", the upgrade is "Superior". Why does this make reference to "elite hoplites"?

Immortal Fire - Later Achaemenid Persian - Allies?

I was looking at the allies for the Later Achaemenid Persians and I saw "Lykian Allies".

Where do I find "Lykian Allies"? Is this is some upcoming book? Or is this a typo and should have been "Lydian"?

Thanks
Jerry

I think we have a winner. They appear to be most like Egyptian Spearman. They have a mail/linen? hood and shirt and a long robe from the waist down. The shields are unknown.

Thanks

Contents of Xyston Later Achaemenid Persian Mystery

I picked up a box of the Xyston Later Achaemenid Persians and I was sorting through it to see what I had and what I needed and I came across a bag of 8 figures that I can't find on the Xyston web-site. If you look at the cover of the box it is the troops with spears on the left side that have the bi...

Immortal Fire - Classical Greek Allies List - Typo/Errata?

At the bottom of the list there is an option of "Javelinmen - Others..." and "Peltasts - Any State, only from 450...". The Total Bases is listed as 0 - 6. But the number of bases per BG is 6-8. On page 6 the starter army includes "Corinthian - Javelinmen" of 1 BG with 8...

I didn't make my example clear enough. Out of the 48 I only wanted to upgrade 24. I understand that there is a 6 - 36 restriction on the Spartan citizens.

You are correct. Light horse not cavalry. However my question still applies. What does it mean?

Ok - I believe I understand. As an example I would like to take 48 Spartan Hoplite bases (before 460).

The first 24 are 24 * 9 = 216, the next 24 are going to be "upgrade to spartan citizens" which are 24 * 13 = 312. For a total of 528.

Is that correct?

Immortal Fire - Classical Greek List - Undrilled or Drilled

In the Classical Greek list there are 2 cavalry entries that say "Undrilled or Drilled". Does this mean I get the choice between undrilled or drilled but the cost is exactly the same regardless of the one I choose/

Immortal Fire - Classical Greek List - Confusion

In the Classical Greek list there are a number of entries that use the words "upgrade" and "downgrade". What exactly does this mean? Upgrade and downgrade from what? Is it from the "Hoplites" line that is just under Cavalry?

Thanks in advance

What paint brushes do you use?

Hi, I am looking for a good source in the U.S for paintbrushes. I am currently using the Loew-Cornell 18/0 spotters which are ok but tend to wear out pretty quick. I buy them whenever I can find them on sale but that it is not too often. Can anyone recommend an online supplier that they go with and ...

Interpreting the army list - Rise of Rome

On page 43 for Later Seleucid at the bottom of the Core Troops there is a listing for Archers - LF, Archers - MF and Slingers - LF. The total bases are listed as 0-16, 0-16 & 0-16 respectively. There is an overall total of 6-24. Does this mean that for each of the three types there can be 0-16 b...

A little more help is needed.

Ok - I am starting to get it. Now for further clarification let's reconsider this example: Pike took 4 inflicted 3 - has lost by 1 so CT Leg1 took 1 inflicted 2 - hasn't lost so no CT Leg2 took 2 inflicted 2 - hasn't lost so no CT I am assuming that this situation possible and this is the correct ou...

Still confused

I'm very confused by this thread. One message is implying that the pike received 4 hits and another is implying that it gave out 4 hits. Which is it? From reading the rules my understanding is that the single pike BG totals all the hits that it recieved and "both" legion BG's total the hit...

Measuring Rods?

Throughout the rule book and in some of the pictures I see metal measuring rods that look like they are about an inch in length and have a threaded female and male end.

Where can I purchase them?

Thanks
Jerry
