I do prefer them with a bit of a wave myself, I'm sure they'll mix in with my others though. No worries about being critical, it helps.

They have got a slight kink, but I know what you mean, I had a bit of a disaster with them. I stuck on the flags on the wrong unit and only had this last set left, so as it was 3 in the morning and I was basically losing the plot, this is how they went on. I may go back and curl them.....or I might ...

Sorry for the late reply, but yep they would fit on a 40x40, but it would be a tight squeeze. I like the round bases for Generals, why not try them instead?
