Weird evade

I was playing a Swedish-Polish skimish and charged some Swedish horse at Polish cossacks whose backs were to a lake; the cossacks evaded towards the direction of the charge ending up behind the charging horse; the Swedes then turned 180 degrees to face the new position of the cossacks, setting thems...

Re: Players in South Shropshire/North Herefordshire

Tim,

Yes, it's a good place to live, but a bit of a wargaming wasteland. I do get occasional games with a friend in Presteigne for which I'm grateful but I'm not aware of anyone else in the area.

Re: Norse Irish

Norse Irish relates to the time when Viking influences started to affect the native Irish, so some of the Donningtom figures have two-handed axes, which would probably not be appropriate for the immediate post-Roman period. I would think the spear and javelin armed figures would be suitable, though.

Re: The New Field of Glory

I've picked up digital FoG after a break, and in a couple of games noticed that when you it a unit in the rear, they disrupt but the number of combat dice isn't reduced - shouldn't they lose one dice per three in this curcumstance? Will this be fixed in the new FoG?

FoG-R players in Shropshire/Herefordshire?

I'm in Ludlow and looking for opponents; I'm willing to travel reasonable distances or host games here. Any one out there?

I drill the holes by hand using a small drill bit held in a pin chuck, the size of the drill depending on the diameter of the wire pikes you're using. This is likely to be somewhere around 0.7-0.8mm. Whitemetal has a tendency to clog the drill bit so go carefully and lubricate the drill - spit works...

I think they're definitely the Front Rank range. I had some years ago and the poses look very familiar.

I've got this wrong due to misremembering the TT rules; having reread them properly I see that the problem is not with the implementation of the game but with the operator! Early onset senior moment.

OK I accept that I may have got this wrong, but my impression is that lancers against steady spearmen comes out as even POA; if the lance POA does not apply, shouldn't the spearmen be at +?

Lancer/swordsman POA against steady spears

I may be wrong about this, but it looks like lancers get the lance poa against steady spearmen at impact and swordsman poa in continuing melee. This is a difference from the TT game. Does anyone know the rationale for this?

Hi John,

Where are you in South Birmingham? I'm in Ludlow so we could possibly get together for a game if you're on this side.

Where are the runners and riders posted? I've had a look at the BHGS Britcon webpage but I'm not seeing them - probably just a senior moment.
