// NAME
scenario_name = White Death at Petsamo

// DESCRIPTION
scenario_descr = The Soviet Union had its 14th Army in the Kola Peninsula. When the elements of the 14th Army launched their attack towards Petsamo, the Finns had little to counter the Russians. ||The Lapland Group under the command of Major General Kurt Martti Wallenius organized a battle group, called Osasto Pennanen, after its leader, Captain Antti Pennanen. Osasto Pennanen is a small unit compared to the two full Soviet Divisions (104th and 52nd) it is facing. It has three separate companies (10. , 11. and 3. Erillinen Komppania), one artillery battery (5. Erillinen Patteri) and a Reconnaissance Group (Tiedusteluosasto 11).||Elements of the 104th Division crossed the border on November 30, 1939 and occupied the Rybachi Peninsula, an offshoot of the Kola Peninsula, near Petsamo. The 52nd Division was moved to Petsamo by boats. ||Osasto Pennanen will attempt to slow the Russians down by a series of rearguard actions. While trying to organize roadblock defenses with the meager forces he has, Captain Pennanen sends light troops for reconnaissance and guerilla raids behind enemy lines to disrupt the Russian advance. Tiedusteluosasto 11, with its light equipment and soldiers specialized in skiing and cross-country skills, hits the advancing columns of the Red Army.

// BRIEFINGS
briefing_2_0 = My God, I had forgotten how cold it is up here. 'Pakkas ajaa sian takaisin kotiin' (The frost drives the pig back home.) May that be true of the communist swine that we are facing.
briefing_2_1 = There is a Soviet column on the road to Petsamo to the west of us. They are completely unaware of our presence.
briefing_2_2 = The plan is as follows. A portion of our group hits them in the side, a quick strike, then retires to the east using the road to Parkkina, or . . .
briefing_2_3 = . . . our fellows head west, on the road leading to Vuoremijoki.
briefing_2_4 = Our forces in the south hold up the Soviets until sundown and then they, too, fall back to Petsamo. This will be a delicate operation, much depending on timing. At least half of our forces (7 units) must be extracted by the end of the day but no Soviet units can be permitted to travel down the road to Petsamo before then. Onnea! (Good luck!)

// TRIGGER TEXTS

// OUTCOME EVENTS
outcome_2_0_title = Major Defeat
outcome_2_0_text = Like a hot knife through butter. That's how easily they pushed us aside and went on their merry way. This war is foolish. How can we expect to fight an enemy this strong with men on skis?
outcome_2_1_title = Minor Defeat
outcome_2_1_text = All fine and good that our forces escaped. We were useless. We were powerless to stop the Soviets from proceeding to Petsamo. Indeed, on the face of it, this looks rather cowardly. Shame.
outcome_2_2_title = Draw
outcome_2_2_text = Like a hot knife through butter. That's how easily they pushed us aside and went on their merry way. This war is foolish. How can we expect to fight an enemy this strong with men on skis?
outcome_2_3_title = Minor Victory
outcome_2_3_text = Delaying the Soviet column was quite costly. We left good men behind, men that are irreplaceable compared to the hordes of peasants that the enemy can throw at us. Not a satisfactory result.
outcome_2_4_title = Major Victory
outcome_2_4_text = That's the way to fight, men! Lurk unseen, spring from cover, ambush, and melt back into the forest. Again and again until we drain the enemy of his will to continue this wrongful invasion.
