Confirmed identification: A = Tobias (“Ich”), the recording with German in-game text
(34ea949f-…pzrpl). B = Bond, the English-language Steam recording (5792722c-…pzrpl). Tobias has
confirmed this identification. The labels A and B are retained in the report so that the cited
commands can be matched unambiguously to the original turn logs.

1. Results at a glance
----------------------

A successfully defends all three primary objectives and preserves a large proportion of his force. B
launches more attacks early on and achieves a notable success in air combat, but subsequently loses
his entire active Ukrainian force. The clearest difference is not aggressiveness, but how long each
player's troops remain combat-capable and retain their support units.

In this game, A's approach resembles a mobile defence focused on the mission objectives, with
limited counterattacks. B counterattacks earlier and more frequently. Those counterattacks do
achieve results, but they do not prevent the subsequent collapse. In particular, the loss of all
tanks and Russian tanks reaching the artillery distinguish the two playthroughs.

This is an assessment of these two games, not of Tobias's or Bond's general playing ability. The
very first Russian turn already unfolds differently, before either player intervenes. The recordings
therefore do not constitute a fully controlled comparison with an identical sequence of random
outcomes.

2. What was actually extracted
------------------------------

The analysis is based on the scenario file, its localisation file and the two binary replays. The
scenario setup, the embedded initial and final unit rosters, the command sequences and two loss/kill
matrices per replay were reconstructed. Neither game was played back in the game engine or fully
re-simulated.

A contains 1,238 commands; B contains 1,389. These include selection, deselection and AI commands,
so the total is not a measure of tactical quality. Both recordings contain 20 Russian and 20
Ukrainian turn completions. The Russian side moves first in each round. Only Ukrainian commands are
used when counting attacks.

An important distinction: move x y initially specifies the ordered destination hex. Enemy contact or
other game rules may end the movement before that destination is reached. Only a later selection at
the destination or a saved state confirms the actual position. The analysis therefore does not treat
movement orders as fully verified routes. All coordinates given are the zero-based x/y values from
the files.

I have not reliably decoded the damage values for every individual engagement from the attack
entries. They therefore do not support statements such as “this attack cost three strength points”
or “this withdrawal would definitely have been loss-free”. Automatic support fire must also not be
equated with the number of explicitly ordered artillery attacks.

3. Mission and forces
---------------------

The scenario is called T500, measures 26 × 26 hexes and begins on 1 December 2024. The documented
mission is: “Control all 3 primary objectives at the end of turn 20.” Ukraine is the player's side;
Russia is the opposing side.

The three objectives are at (5,6), (5,12) and (5,19). The Ukrainian airfield is at (3,12), and the
Russian airfields are at (22,4) and (22,21). The objectives are therefore in the western part of the
map. The mission does not require the capture of the Russian fortifications in the east.

Ukraine starts with 31 independent units, including five minefields: this leaves 26 active combat
units, including the two aircraft. These comprise 13 infantry units, six tank units, two
reconnaissance units, two artillery units, one air-defence unit, a Su-27 and a Mi-24.

The Russian side has 60 units defined, including scheduled reinforcements. Of these, 26 are static
units, primarily fortifications and mines. The mobile force comprises 30 ground units and four
aircraft. Two reinforcement groups of ten units each, arriving on turns 4 and 7, intensify the
attack. This means that destroying attackers early on is not, by itself, evidence that the greatest
danger has already passed.

Both replays nominally state Oberst / Colonel difficulty. The 25 extracted numerical equipment
fields match across the 60 IDs used for the comparison. However, the game identifiers differ (1.32
and 1.32 Steam), as do the AI's opening turn, the random values and some global numerical fields
whose meaning has not yet been established. Fully identical conditions have therefore not been
demonstrated.

4. Verified loss figures
------------------------

The following table counts independent units that were completely lost, not lost strength points.
Assigned transports are recorded separately and are not added as extra combat units.

The 14 infantry losses in B are not a counting error: one additional RPG infantry unit is deployed
alongside the 13 original infantry units. There are two purchase commands, but only one
corresponding deployment command. Two purchase calls must therefore not be assumed to represent two
newly deployed units without further verification.

A finishes with 24 Ukrainian units: 20 active combat units and four minefields. B finishes with
three minefields and no active combat unit. The roster arithmetic is consistent: A 31 − 7 = 24; B 31
+ 1 − 29 = 3.

On the Russian side, the combat statistics record 30 independent units destroyed in A and 20 in B.
There are also ten and five transport-loss entries respectively, counted separately. A destroys all
30 mobile Russian ground units; B destroys 19 of them, as well as the Mi-28.

One technical exception is important: in A, a total of 31 Russian units are missing relative to the
initial roster, although the combat matrix records only 30 corresponding losses. The additional
missing unit is the Su-30SM. It must not be counted as a confirmed aerial kill by A. Its last
identifiable action is on turn 12; the reason for its subsequent absence has not been reliably
established. A loss due to running out of fuel would be only a hypothesis.

5. Tempo and turning points
---------------------------

B makes 72 attacks in the first eight turns, while A makes only 49. The picture then reverses: on
turns 9–12, A makes 26 attacks and B only nine. Taken together with the final losses, this shows a
real decline in B's ability to act, rather than merely a switch to a quieter style of play.

The key conclusion is not “attacking less is better”. After all, A attacks more frequently over the
game as a whole. The difference is that A preserves his troops for further engagements for longer,
whereas a large proportion of B's actions is concentrated in the opening phase.

The loss of the primary objectives in B can be dated fairly precisely:

Ground units and subsequent confirmation of their positions were specifically used here. An aircraft
above an objective hex is not, by itself, evidence that the objective has been captured.

At the end, A has Ukrainian ground units on all three objectives: heavy machine-gun infantry at
strength 10 in the north, a T-64BV Model 2017 at strength 9 in the centre, and regular infantry at
strength 10 in the south. A therefore fulfils the documented victory condition.

6. The opening: A organises the defence; B seeks early combat
-------------------------------------------------------------

A: Objective garrisons and support units are reorganised
--------------------------------------------------------

In the very first Ukrainian turn, A issues several orders directly related to defending the
objectives. The airborne infantry on the central objective is ordered to move from (5,12) to (5,11);
a T-64BV is then ordered to occupy the central objective. A T-64BM Bulat is ordered to the northern
objective at (5,6), and a T-64BV to the southern objective at (5,19). Infantry and reconnaissance
units are redistributed at the same time.

The support units also receive more cautious movement destinations: the northern 2S1 Gvozdika is
ordered from (9,5) to (4,7); the Buk is switched in preparation for a move from (9,17) to (3,14).
The exact command references are A, turn 1, Nos. 43–49, 57–58, 67–70 and 78–81.

Tactical assessment: this is consistent with a defence in which the objectives and the integrity of
one's own force take priority over advancing as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, A is not simply
passive: three attacks in the first turn and further counterattacks show that the approach is not
limited to withdrawal.

B: High initial activity and a stronger forward concentration
-------------------------------------------------------------

B makes nine attacks in the first Ukrainian turn. Several tanks and a BMD-2 operate around the
central sector of the front. After mounting its transport, the airborne infantry from the central
objective receives a movement order to (10,16). The northern 2S1 is ordered to (7,9), closer to the
ongoing fighting, and fires at (9,11).

On turn 2, the heavy machine-gun infantry from the northern objective also mounts its transport and
is ordered to relocate to (5,12) (Nos. 213–215). An explicit order to move back to (5,6) is not
identifiable until turn 7 (Nos. 685–686). This does not mean that the northern objective was
completely unoccupied throughout the intervening period. What is established is that its original
garrison is drawn into the centre and that another order to occupy it is subsequently needed.

Tactical assessment: concentrating forces in the centre can make sense. It becomes problematic when
the other objectives are secured by only limited reserves and fresh Russian groups arrive at the
same time. The subsequent capture of the northern objective on turn 9 makes this sector an important
point to review.

7. A specific point to test: artillery after the direct attacks
---------------------------------------------------------------

In B, turn 1, the target hex at (9,11) is first attacked directly by the T-80BV (command No. 61),
the BMD-2 after switching mode (No. 67), and the T-64BM Bulat (No. 73). Only afterwards does the 2S1
Gvozdika relocate and fire at the same hex (Nos. 92–94).

This is a specific, documented attack sequence that I would change in a repeat test: after clearing
the necessary route, first move the artillery into position and let it fire, then carry out the
planned direct attacks. The useful question to test is whether preparatory fire makes the subsequent
engagements more favourable.

It would, however, be dishonest to turn this into a precisely quantified mistake. The replay does
not provide reliably decoded individual losses or comparative combat predictions here. The
availability of a suitable firing position, reconnaissance and the sequence of commands actually
permitted must also be checked in the game. The conclusion is therefore: a well-founded opportunity
for improvement, not “this move definitely cost a specific number of tanks”.

It is also worth noting that B already uses a different sequence elsewhere: on turn 1, the 2S3 first
fires at (11,15), before the airborne infantry brought forward attacks the same target. The issue is
therefore an inconsistent sequence in one particular engagement, not a general accusation that B
lacks coordination.

8. Tanks, protective screening and artillery survival
-----------------------------------------------------

A preserves five of his six tanks, both artillery units and the Buk. B loses all six tanks, both
guns and the Buk. In A, the 2S1 ends at (4,8), the 2S3 at (5,18) and the Buk at (4,7).

The matrix showing which classes caused the losses makes the difference particularly clear: in B,
both Ukrainian artillery units are destroyed by Russian tanks. The same Russian class is also
credited with destroying all six Ukrainian tanks and both reconnaissance units. The Buk falls victim
to a Russian reconnaissance unit. This is a strong indication that Russian ground forces are not
merely engaging the front line but eventually reaching the support units as well.

In A, the Ukrainian tanks are credited with destroying 19 Russian main units, including six Russian
tanks. In B, they are credited with only three main units and no Russian tank. Conversely, B's
infantry achieves 15 kills, including eight Russian tanks. B's infantry and anti-tank forces
therefore contribute a great deal; they simply cannot compensate for the loss of the rest of the
force's structure.

These figures record the final, unit-destroying hit. They measure neither the total damage inflicted
nor the value of preparatory artillery fire. A gun with no credited kill may nevertheless have made
a decisive contribution.

On turn 4, B orders several units to advance in the area of (10,12), (12,11) and (11,11), while
fighting is already taking place elsewhere at (5,13) and (6,12), close to the central objective.
This phase also coincides with the first reinforcement group. My interpretation: there is a high
risk here of spreading the available forces too thinly between counterattacking and immediately
rescuing an objective. Whether a particular advance was unnecessary cannot, however, be determined
with certainty without the complete combat states.

For a repeat of B's playthrough, I would keep the tank reserve closer to the friendly objectives,
relocate artillery only behind a secure ground screen, and ask after every counterattack: who will
prevent the enemy from making direct contact with the guns on the next Russian turn?

9. Air combat: a clear success for B and a shared weakness
----------------------------------------------------------

B initially makes better use of the Su-27 for air combat
--------------------------------------------------------

The initial Su-27 uses equipment ID 2420 with the ground-attack graphic ukrainian_su-27_ground.png.
B switches it to ID 2123, the fighter variant, on turn 1 with command No. 45. The attack at (10,16)
follows on turn 2, command No. 159.

The kill matrix credits the Ukrainian fighter class with one destroyed Russian tactical air unit;
the Mi-28 is absent from the final roster, while the Su-25 that arrives later survives. The Su-27's
destruction of the Mi-28 in B is therefore well supported. This is a genuine tactical success and
deserves explicit recognition.

A does not make this switch and uses the Su-27 for ground attacks, including on turns 2 and 5.
Deliberately choosing its role before use would therefore be a specific opportunity for A to
improve: which task is more urgent in this defensive mission—an additional ground attack or engaging
the Russian aircraft?

Both lose their air force
-------------------------

Both recordings show the loss of the Su-27 and the Mi-24; both losses are attributed to Russian
fighters. The commands reveal notable attack sequences:

- A: on turn 6, the Su-30SM and Su-47 attack the hex at (11,8), where the Su-27 was last used. On
  turn 7, both fighters attack at (4,13), the hex to which the Mi-24 had previously been ordered to
  withdraw.
- B: on turn 5, both Russian fighters attack at (4,13), the Su-27's last confirmed area of
  operations. On turn 6, the Su-47 attacks at (6,14), where the Mi-24 was last used.

These sequences are consistent with the final loss statistics. The exact remaining strength after
the first and second attacks cannot be read reliably from them. The shared opportunity for
improvement is nevertheless apparent: assess not only the target of your own air attack, but also
the aircraft's safety during the following Russian turn. Moving back towards friendly lines does not
automatically produce a safe end position.

For both playthroughs, it would be worth testing whether more restrained sorties after the arrival
of the second Russian fighter, earlier engagement of those fighters and better-coordinated active
air defence would be more effective. The replay text alone does not prove that any of these
alternatives is guaranteed to succeed.

10. Replacements, transports and late rescue attempts
-----------------------------------------------------

A contains 34 Ukrainian replacement commands; B contains 45. In A, three are of the elite type; in
B, eleven. Ten of B's eleven elite-replacement calls occur in the very first Ukrainian turn. This is
a clear difference in early resource management, but not proof of any particular amount of prestige
spent: a logged call alone establishes neither the exact price nor the extent of a completed
replenishment or overstrength action.

Transports must be assessed with similar caution. A contains one Ukrainian command to mount a
transport; B contains nine. The final statistics record zero and four Ukrainian transport losses
respectively. This suggests that the safety of infantry using transports is worth examining. It does
not prove that every transport loss occurred while travelling or that every mounting command was a
mistake.

B tries to recover late in the game: purchase calls for RPG infantry appear on turns 13 and 14,
followed by a deployment at (5,18) on turn 14. This unit does not save the game. The practically
relevant question for another attempt is therefore less “buy something even later” and more whether
a smaller, earlier reserve could prevent the loss of the support units and the second objective.

11. What I would specifically change for A and B
------------------------------------------------

A: Do not unnecessarily overhaul a successful basic approach
------------------------------------------------------------

The combination of objective defence, tank preservation and surviving support units is convincing in
this game. I would not push A towards a more offensive style merely to generate more attacks early
on.

The clearest opportunity for improvement is in air combat: deliberately choose the Su-27's role
before its first use and assess both aircraft's end positions against the Russian fighters that
arrive later. B's early Mi-28 kill is a useful comparison here, not proof that all air threats would
then be resolved.

A second, less strongly supported point to examine is the early reach of the northern 2S1. A
initially orders it far to the rear; its first clearly attributed direct attack does not appear
until turn 7. A somewhat closer but still protected firing position might increase its direct
contribution. Because it may have provided automatic support fire, this must explicitly not be
turned into “useless for six turns”.

B: Fewer simultaneous tasks, more combat power preserved
--------------------------------------------------------

The early air-combat success and the tanks destroyed by infantry are strengths. I would retain both.
What I would change is the extent of the simultaneous counterattacks, the security of the northern
objective, and the positioning of support units close to a reliable ground screen.

Three decisions would be particularly important in the next attempt: first, prioritise the battle
for the objectives over more far-reaching advances; second, retain a combat-capable tank reserve
ahead of the reinforcement turns, 4 and 7; third, test the documented sequence at target hex (9,11)
with earlier artillery fire.

The loss of both guns to Russian tanks is the most tangible warning sign. The correction is not to
hide artillery far to the rear as a matter of principle, but to plan its fire effect and its safety
together. Destroying an enemy is good; still having a coherent defence afterwards is more important
in this scenario.

12. Lessons for the scenario generator
--------------------------------------

I would not yet infer any blanket strengthening or weakening of Russia from these two replays. The
same basic mission allows both a successful defence and a complete collapse. This initially argues
for more controlled tests rather than adding enemies solely because one game was won.

Five review principles are particularly useful for development: give greater weight to mission
objectives and remaining friendly combat power than to early attack counts; protect support units
from direct contact with enemy ground forces; assess reinforcement groups together with the
available space for reacting to them; match aircraft variants to their intended role; and count
independent units, transport losses and unexplained disappearances separately.

The Su-27's initial ground-attack variant is a particularly specific candidate for review. Equally
important is the finding that 60 Russian scenario entries do not mean 60 mobile attackers. All 26
static units survive in both replays. An analysis must not interpret their mere presence as
continuing pressure from mobile attackers.

These points are derived suggestions, not changes that have already been implemented. The original
files and the generator were not modified for this report.

Final assessment
----------------

A wins this game primarily by preserving a functioning ground defence. B achieves genuine early
successes, but cannot turn them into a sustainable defence. The clearest verifiable difference is
the survival of tanks, artillery and air defence. Air combat remains an area for improvement for A
as well; B provides the better individual example there by switching to the fighter variant and
shooting down the Mi-28.

Not every different decision is a mistake. Some points to review are nevertheless very specific: the
attack sequence at (9,11), the security of the northern objective, counterattacks while
reinforcements are arriving, Russian tanks being able to reach the artillery, and the safety of
aircraft end positions. These are precisely the points on which I would base the next comparison
playthrough.

Appendix: Sources and verification
----------------------------------

The analysis uses only the four supplied files. The mission wording comes from
cfc695d7-5881-4d84-ad97-8e69d2ba664b.pzloc. The scenario setup and units come from
d3cfe807-4e5b-4c77-8cc4-cad00ee78acb.pzscn. Replay A is 34ea949f-d313-4d4f-9811-f9153286da6c.pzrpl;
replay B is 5792722c-b378-4925-bf11-40f5901ecdff.pzrpl.

The previously supplied companion archive, “T500_Replayanalyse_Bericht_und_Pruefdaten.zip”, contains
the complete turn logs organised by turn and side, the raw matrices, the extracted initial/final
rosters, verification data with file hashes and byte offsets, and a small verification parser
specifically for these two files. The command numbers in this report correspond to the numbers in
those logs, not to any display in the game.

Any verification must take into account the zero-based coordinates, the limitations of movement
destinations, unknown damage in individual engagements, automatic support actions and differences in
the sequence of random outcomes. A also contains a reseed command on turn 4. It marks a change in
the random state; it says nothing about the reason for that change or the player's intent. No
accusation is inferred from it.
